In which the pond freely abuses Dame Slap in the usual way, as is its birthright ...

It always pleases the pond to note someone saying "I think" when clearly cogito isn't a sum for them ... as Jimbo the dumb showed most eloquently on 7.30 here ...

Fortunately there's a happy synchronicity at work here, because Jimbo the dumb is the theme of the day for Dame Slap, scribbling furiously, though the outcome won't be clear until later in the day ...

Actually reptiles, how about we do the 180 always necessary when reading you, and suggest it's the conservative MPs who have set up the showdown with hapless Malware?

As for Dame Slap, the pond loves the juxtapositions that google sometimes provides ...

Is that the only time in recorded history that Dame Slap and Michelle Obama turned up together? Talk about how to hurt her feelings ...

Now the pond can sense where this is heading, and perhaps we can interrupt the Dame, terribly busy in her slapping, to offer a comical tweet ...

Naughty Han Solo, there's no need to be sexist about it.

What about hardline females of the Dame Slap kind?

The pond urges the baristas of Surry Hills to put out signs reading "No fucking Murdoch reptiles served here", and let's see what a shortage of coffee does in bringing them to their senses ...

Back to Dame Slap, still raging, but now explicit in her support of Jimbo the Dumb, another fine example of the truism that a solid education doesn't guarantee a working brain ...

Uh huh ... how curious that this puts the pond in some very odd company. There was gorgeous George ...

And there was Mark Kenny here ...

What a ponce Jimbo the dumb lad looks ....

Kenny relies, alarmingly, on an outcome yet to be announced - no more sleeps - but the points he makes about Jimbo and hapless Malware and the confrontational hardline conservatives, and indirectly therefore, about the bumbling Dame Slap herself, with her love of Jimbo the dumb, remain true enough ...

Having bombed in the public survey they so loudly demanded, Coalition reactionaries have hit upon a play that shows contempt for their leader and looms as the most brazen betrayal of voter sentiment in a century.

Not since the hawkish prime minister Billy Hughes unsuccessfully foisted two consecutive conscription plebiscites on the Australian people - the second of which was 100 years ago next month - has a mainstream political party schemed to affect such an immediate repudiation of the will of the people, once sought.

Backers of an alternative marriage bill under the name of the hardline Victorian Liberal senator James Paterson (who has actually voted 'yes' in the postal survey) display a triple contempt for the Australian people, for liberalism, and for the already tarnished prestige of Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull - tarnished, in large measure, because he had forsaken his own preference for change, in order to accommodate them.

Indeed, Turnbull suffered incalculable brand damage for adopting Tony Abbott's plebiscite process, which was viewed by many Australians as a betrayal in itself...

And then, after assuming the result:

... astoundingly, Paterson et al, will not accept that. They want to neutralise the operation of state anti-discrimination laws in order that businesses, individuals, faith groups and employers in all of these areas can legally discriminate between customers on the basis of sexuality – or even support for a particular sexuality via attendance at gay weddings.

They are not even subtle. The current definition of marriage would not be altered in their formula, but merely appended with some deliberately ambiguous words.

Well yes, all that and more because deep down they love their poofter bashing and hate to give it up, and hate to see the chance for others to exercise their hate being lost ...

And so to the last gobbet of Dame Slap feeling the rage ...

Uh huh ... how remarkable all that is coming from a Milo lover ... and no, the pond isn't speaking about the Milo drink of yore, the pond is speaking of that other Milo ...

And now baristas of Surry Hills, please remember this is the notice you need on all your mugs, and perhaps on the blackboard out the front too ...

And what a relief it was to use that free speech in such free fucking linguistic form, inspired by a Pope cartoon this morning, with more papal outings here ...

  1. I know it would be pointless trying to criticise the Dame's latest stream of conscience rant on the grounds of either logic or presentation, so I'll simply note that Timmy Wilson is actually Freedom Boy, MP for Goldstein, not Senator Freedom Boy, as the Dame describes him.

A simple error, and undoubtedly a petty one to point out, but if the Dame is incapable of getting such simplicities right, or can't be bothered reading through and checking her blatherings, why should anyone pay any attention to them? Just as with any other poor soul we see yelling to themselves in a public place, it's far kinder to simply look the other way and walk on.

And just what the fuck is "liberal democracy" on Planet Janet anyway?

  2. Dame Slap: "Those with a poor grip on history and freedom ..."

You said it D.Slap, you said it. Now what was that very Liberal response ? Oh yes, "a solid education does not guarantee a working brain". Oh yes, you said it, Barry O, you said it.

Really thopugh, this latest D.Slap is just a wonderful example of the 'Ministry of Truth' doublethink that all of the reptiles are heavily engaged in. An unfortunate fact ? Say that Liberals have made no contribution to liberal democracy - in fact very much the reverse ?

Then just throw that down the memory hole and assert the approved tribal position: everything good iis conservative, everything bad is "left-green". It isn't really even doublethink, is it. It's just the usual sociopathic single think.
