Day 43, and as the world waits for ScoMo, the pond returns to a much loved routine with the onion muncher ... will it ever get tired?

It goes without saying that the pond will faithfully report on any and every report on the possible return of the messiah ...

He's not a naughty boy, he's the delight and hope of the delcons, and what better way to distract attention from ScoMo than to remember the messiah?

By golly the art work at the Terror has alway been weird, but that 'kissing the boomerang' graphic is beyond the valley of the weird ...

Never mind, let's get down to the business of contemplating a completely irrelevant, useless and ancient chewing over of much chewed-over matters ...

Oh, the pond just wanted to work in a couple of LOL dogs ... got to get some substance into the show, and the hounds do sort of resonant with that photoshop of the onion muncher.

You see the problem is, the mere mention of Malware is likely to send the delcons into a bone-chewing frenzy ...

So it's time for another, ever so gentle reminder that after the election it'll be time for BBOM, or bring back the onion muncher, with this time the variation BBOMGWMTCB, or if you will, for those who are illiterate when it comes to acronyms, bring back the onion munch, great white man, to take care of the blacks...

So on to the plea, thanks to the Terrorists, but is it wrong for the pond to note as we start that the Terrorists still seem to be having trouble with their black texta ...

Wouldn't it be easier to have typed "All the fucking news" in the first place?

Okay, there's clearly nothing to see here. The pond understands why readers might be bailing already.

But it's part of the pond's make-up to stick with the sublimely irrelevant with nothing new to say ... after all, we haven't reached that graphic yet ...

Unfortunately, this is typical.

No, not the condescension, that's everywhere, what's really irritating is the refusal to provide a link, in a bid to keep the readership in house.

Was the reference to Merv Bendle's splendid March of the Turnbull Robots, with its rousing, exhilarating call to arms at the end?

....Turnbull and the Liberal Party he leads cannot be supported until the historic balance between liberal progressivists and social conservatives within it is restored. And if this cannot be achieved then the only option is the creation of a new conservative party.

By golly, when Merv gets wound up, he really delivers the goods, as in his previous week's offering ... Conservatives and the 'Samson Option' ...

The Samson Option is the name given to Israel’s last-gasp defence strategy. It involves the use of its large armoury of thermonuclear weapons against its aggressors and their supporters at that point in a war when most of the homeland has been destroyed and its very existence as a nation is in doubt. It refers, of course, to the biblical account of Samson (Judges 13-16), one of the last of the judges of ancient Israel. Endowed by God with the strength necessary to defeat his Philistine enemies, he is betrayed, blinded, emasculated, and set to work as a slave. Eventually, he is brought to a temple for a religious sacrifice to the pagan gods and for the people to witness his humiliation. There he marshals his great strength and, bracing himself against the pillars supporting the demonic temple, he shifts them from their foundation and brings down the entire structure, destroying himself and his enemies. Do Australian conservatives face the Samson Option? Is it time to admit that the Liberal Party has been seized by philistines intent of worshiping their own pagan gods, that the only option is its demolition followed by the birth of an uncompromised conservative party?
The question arises in the light of the assassination of Tony Abbott, the ascension of Malcolm Turnbull, the dismissal of conservative ministers, their replacement by progressivists, the resurrection of leftist policies, and the preselection of Turnbull’s moderate faction cronies to safe Liberal Party seats, leaving conservatives isolated. Does this ruthless, ongoing coup herald the final demise of conservative influence within a party that has prided itself as a broad church capable of accommodating both the liberal and conservative strands of political philosophy in a mutually respectful partnership? Has the brutal marginalization of conservatism reached the point where its proponents have no option but to bring down the entire edifice?

Not the whole rotten corrupt filthy vile edifice?

Well the pond rarely visits Quadrant, on or offline, because it's a bit unsporting.

It's a bit like heading off to the John Birch society or Windsor family conspiracy theorists of the Lyndon LaRouche kind ... easy pickings, a bit like giving herpes to carp ...

Doomsday, apocalyptic fantasies about bringing it all down are best left to the sultry Hedy Lamarr performing a Freudian act on a man's hair.

Oh George, George, what a fine villain you were ... raising your goblet as the entire edifice fell down ...

Hmm, must speak to the architect about the design ... there seems to have been a few structural flaws in the edifice

Now where were we?

Ah yes, that immortal bit of photoshop ...

In essence if the pond may be so bold as to paraphrase, the writer seems to be proposing that the best strategy might be to send the barking mad to talk to the barking mad, and that will keep them barking inside the tent, and never mind the noise or the rampant discontent, or for that matter, the reluctance to use the litter tray ...

And so the delcons keep beavering away on behalf of the wall punching onion muncher.

Put him in Aboriginal affairs. Where's the harm? It'll keep him and the pesky blacks happy ...

Of course Malware could give him Foreign Affairs... that really worked out for former Chairpersons Rudd and Gillard ...

And so the pond maintains its flickering flame of delcon hope and delusion.

Even if Malware is returned, with a reduced majority, and the NBN continues its fucked up roll out, there will be structural problems in the pagan temple ... as the onion eater conspires to return to the table ... and then who knows what might happen.

Poor fella my country, but an easy life for anyone wanting to blog about surreal delcon absurdity in the right wing commentariat ...

Now back to that movie ... but spoiler alert.

The whole rotten copper-based, champers swilling from the goblet, tax breaks for the rich edifice might come tumbling down at any minute...

But then again it might not. George, is there anything left in that goblet for the pond?
